Our Process for Custom Furniture
Vision
Yung Atelier partnered with Craig & Company to furnish a private club lounge in Chicago. We advised & collaborated with the C&C interiors team to realize their vision of a warm and contemporary space. Our studio carefully studied inspiration imagery & floor plans to understand the design intent, shared questions and proposed concepts for custom pieces that captured Craig & Company’s vision for each room.
Sampling & Production
From drawings, samples were produced to convey stylistic details, from wood finishes and muslin prototypes to contrast welt diameters and leather quilting. Yung Atelier woodworkers, upholsterers and seamstresses collaborated to finalize the finest details, resulting in beautiful furnishings for the club to enjoy: quilted leather banquettes, walnut swivel bar stools, roll arm sofas, swan arm lounge chairs and decorative down throw pillows.
Drawings
Our team produced CAD drawings for each piece, finding technical solutions to anticipated challenges while ensuring beautiful and functional design that translated the creative intent while prizing comfort.
Installation
Our team inspected, delivered and installed all furnishings. With careful attention to detail, furniture was unwrapped and placed, debris removed, down throw pillows fluffed, and banquettes installed within wall to wall conditions, all of which were informed by extensive knowledge of the project’s interior and architectural plans.
