Circular Sustainability
We are excited to share our circular model of production and consumption. This means doing our part to lessen strain on the environment and creating a workflow that supports a regenerative economy. To this end, we are happy to recycle furniture and furnishings our clients no longer wish to keep.
Pick Up
The Yung Atelier team will pick up clients’ unwanted furniture and goods for a fee based on the quantity & size of pieces and location within city limits or the Greater Chicagoland Area.
Disassembly
Items are brought back to our facility, where they are stripped and disassembled by hand.
Repurpose (Recycle & Composting)
Materials are recycled through Lakeshore Recycling Systems and Active Foam Products, where materials are separated at a respective plant and broken down for reuse.
We recycle components of worn furniture including natural pincore latex, dacron batting (100% polyester) and steel coil springs. All hybrid latex polyurethane foam cores can also be recycled at the end of their life span – foam is pulverized and sold back to mills to be repurposed into rug pads.
The Yung Atelier studio composts as much material as possible. 100% cotton ticking, all natural down & feather blends, natural fibers and untreated wood scraps are composted through The Urban Canopy and returned to the soil.
